Bowl Championship Series Conferences

On this page you can find news and standings for all six current BCS Conferences which include the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big 10, Big 12, Big East, Southeastern Conference and the Pacific 10 Conference. This year, the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big 12 and Southeastern Conference will hold Conference Championships to determine their automatic BCS bids. The records next to each team's name is that team's conference record.

Bowl season is approaching and teams are becoming bowl eligible as they work their way through their conference schedules. The following letters denote various accomplishments of teams in BCS Conferences:

x- Bowl Eligible

y- Clinched Spot in Conference Championship Game

z- Clinched Conference Championship and BCS Bowl Bid

Atlantic Coast Conference

News: Wake Forest has won the Atlantic Coast Conference's BCS bid by beating Georgia Tech on Saturday 9-6 in a game filled with defense and just four field goals making up the scoring. Wake Forest's defense was able to hold Georgia Tech to just three trips into the Red Zone, and when the Yellow Jackets got there, they were only able to capitalize on two field goals, along with one turnover on downs.

Big 12 Conference

News: Oklahoma has won the Big 12 Conference's BCS Bowl bid by defeating Nebraska Saturday in the Big 12 Championship Game. In a game that featured only seven points all second half, Oklahoma's defense was enough to contain the Cornhusker offense, and send Oklahoma to a probably Fiesta Bowl bid.

News: Louisville has won the Big East's BCS bowl bid by defeating Connecticut Saturday, then watching as West Virginia beat Rutgers in three overtimes, leaving the Cardinals as the only team in the division with a 6-1 record, and an assured bid to the Bowl Championship Series

Southeastern Conference

News: Florida has won the Southeastern Conference's BCS bowl bid by defeating Arkansas in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday. In a game filled with tergiversation, including three touchdown passes by players who were not playing the quarterback position and important special teams plays, including muffed punts and blocked kicks, Florida prevailed 38-28 and may be headed to the National Championship game.
